Design & Build Project - 2 Metre Pool & Complex Building

Design and build project

The stages of installing a swimming pool

Our team recently had a site soil survey to conduct on a client’s property,  initial discussions with the clients sparked an idea to transform their garden (already stunningly gorgeous) into something extra special, an outdoor oasis. The results? Installation of a 2-metre swimming pool, spa, sauna and garage space, all in a newly designed complex building.

Soil survey and soil mapping

The Micasa team visited the client’s property and conducted a detailed study of the characteristics of the soil where the proposed complex building would live and for foundation calculations. With such a demand in place, our team have been hard at work to understand the effects on the soil and ensure it would be ready for the installation work to begin.

Geo technical testing

During this time, our team have been working alongside Subadra who are involved in geo technical testing, which is the investigation and understanding of the physical properties of soil and foundations for proposed structures. They are also undertaking the task of analysing the soil and working on the borehole log. Once analysis has been conducted, they will wait for the results which will tested in the lab, which ultimately work out the compressible capacity of the soil. Once these results are ready, they will then be handed over to the structural engineers who will design the working loads that the building requires underneath it, dictating the type of foundation that can be utilised such as a piled deep strip or a reinforced raft. Having myself visited the property and spoken to the team from Subadra, everything remains on track and will be ready in the allocated time scale.

The machine to start window sampling

Window sampling has also started on this project. The steel tubes which being driven into the soil are in the process of finding their home, with the Terrie Dando Drilling Rig carrying out this work (a very noisy but extremely powerful machine.)

Once the testing and drilling is complete in 2-3 weeks, the work will then be handed over to the architects and designers for them to work their magic and turn the vision into a reality.

Our team of Design & Build experts are ready to transform your home and garden and turn your reality into a vision. Begin the journey with Micasa today by calling us on 01923 827070 or visiting our showroom at 8 – 10 Rowland Place, Northwood, HA6 1AB for an initial discussion.
